Austrian extreme strength athlete Franz Müllner travels all over the world for extraordinary world record attempts. On February 15, 2024, however, »The Austrian Rock« did not have a long journey. On this day, the multiple RID world record holder headed to the ski slope in Mauterndorf (A). In the »Smarty Land« of the Mauterndorf ski school, he provided plenty of fun for the little skiers.

Franz Müllner wants to improve the world record for human ski jump

Namely by participating in the world record attempt for the »heaviest total weight lifted as a human ski jump«. As many people as possible had to ski over the ski jump held up by the »Austrian Rock«. Müllner was already successful in this category in 2019, when 160 children with a total weight of 11,200 kg skied over the wooden ramp. The record hunter must therefore beat this number and weight in order to successfully beat this record. There was no shortage of motivated skiers for his record attempt. After all, on the afternoon of the record day, numerous children were waiting to take a ride over the human ski jump.

The general concept is similar to conventional bench presses in the gym, Franz Müllner explained. But over a longer period of time, with varying intensity and outdoors.

Was the record attempt in the snow successful?

Lying on the mountainside, the extreme strength athlete lifted the ramp-shaped wooden construction for each of the »moving weights«. A child started every four seconds roughly – so the strongman had to lift the ramp at this interval. One child after the other went over the ski jump. After around 30 minutes, the world record attempt was over.

A total of 412 children had skied over the ski jump during this time. With a total weight of 18,540 kilograms, Franz Müllner improved his own world record for the »heaviest total weight lifted as a human ski jump«. The endurance in the snow had therefore paid off.
